The one glaring exception to this philosophy is that MP3 encoding expires after 30 days in the free version.
#MEDIAMONKEY GOLD 4.0.3 UPGRADE#
Yes, there is an upgradeable version to a Gold version that will allow a user to convert from virtually any sound format to mp3 ), and that satisfied users or more advanced users will upgrade to the Gold version that adds more advanced functionality. In my opinion I would classify MediaMonkey as "Freeware" not "Shareware". I’m amazed at how many poor players exist and how few goods ones there are, this player rates 5 out of 5 in my opinion and I’ve played with quite a few. The skins that come with it are very nice but of course you can add to that if you wish.Īnother nice feature is that you can add and manage your plugins easily so that you don’t get stuck with a bad plugin or can change on the fly if so deemed. Not only does it handle big play lists but also has a very good normalizing function so that you don’t have to be blown out of your seat one second and then putting in your hearing aid to hear the next song. One of the popular players Quintessential took most of the day to build a list. Media Monkey had no problem what so ever with this and built a library list within about a half hour. I have a MP3/WMA Lossless library of over 300MB’s and all but 60MB’s is low quality MP3’s (ripped at 128 to 192) so there are tens of thousands of songs. Media Monkey rules, most players can’t handle big libraries and even if they can it takes forever for them to build a library list. I make sure MM uses my SB Audigy soundcard for hardware acceleration and its crystal clear with no stuttering, even on 4500kbps 24bit/192KHz FLACs.
#MEDIAMONKEY GOLD 4.0.3 320KBPS#
Tip for iPods, etc, you can configure non-compatible formats on the fly but make sure you manually choose stereo (Options> Portable/Audio Devices) as otherwise it will default to the lesser joint-stereo - worth sticking to 320kbps mp3 for connecting to car systems. My existing playlist is currently 6000-songs strong and counting.įYI I use MM Gold. I love listening to my music library (cheap £500 10TB microserver) on continuous shuffle when Im back from a hard days work, it manages huge libraries effortless and plays music back instantly. If you rip CDs with MM you can use Auto-Tag from web (ALT+L) to automatically name your tracks with covers & information. THis seems to me to be a particularly dangerous workaround: There's a bug in MM where it is trying to do stuff that requires elevated permissions.MM is truly excellent at playing back every file format (mine library is mostly MP4/MP3/FLAC-APE) with support for many addons to increase the already impressive functionality available - its so simple Ive stuck with them for years! For my own CDs I rip using EAC in FLAC format (perfect quality) and manage music using MM.

Starting MM in Administrator mode works, but do I really want to run in this mode. "Re-associate file types on startup" was unchecked already.

I have tried the solutions in this thread. And even then trying to kill the processes faster than they appera is a challenge. After selecting OK a few times it suddenly spawns multiple requests continually faster than I can click them away. I get the com elevator message continually and not even one at a time. I have been unable to use MM since the updgrade. What is happening about this? I see no responses from MM staff, although I note that this has been logged as Priority: "urgent" and Severity: "major" in their issue system.
